The Competition and Consumer Authority works to ensure well-functioning markets and to create good conditions for growth and high consumer welfare. In well-functioning markets, companies compete effectively and optimise production, which leads to the development of new and better products and services. In well-functioning markets, consumers act securely and on an informed basis, easily purchasing the goods and services which best meet their needs.

In order to create well-functioning markets, the Competition and Consumer Authority works
in a number of fields, including by:

» Enforcing the Danish Competition Act
» Ensuring consumer protection
» Promoting competition for public contracts
» Supervising water supply and payment services
» Preparing analyses and policies to promote well-functioning markets.
