Association of Danish campsites accepts fine for decisions concerning camping cards

On 4 December 2019, the association of Danish campsites, DK-Camp, accepted to pay a fine of DKK 300,000 (€ 40,149) for infringement of the Danish Competition Act.

DK-CAMP is an association of approximately 300 independent campsite owners.

Part of the infringement concerns price fixing in relation to the sale of Camping Key Europe cards (CKE Camping card). Another part of the infringement concerns that the campsites in question should only accept CKE as a valid camping card, which meant that competing camping cards were excluded.

In May 2017 the Danish Competition Council decided that DK-Camp had violated the Danish Competition Act. In April 2018 the Danish Appeals Tribunal upheld the decision from the Competition Council.
