On May 31st the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority issued a report on the Danish authorisation system of administrators of estates. The purpose of the report is to examine the effect on competition of the authorisation system set out in the Danish Act on Division of Estates might have.

The "European Competition and Consumer Day" focuses on how stronger competition and active consumer behaviour strengthen growth in Europe. The Danish Competition and Consumer Authority is hosting the conference on March 8, 2012.

Good consumer conditions are an important driver for growth and new opportunities benefiting consumers. When consumer conditions are good, it may ensure that consumers feel safe when buying goods or services, that businesses compete on a level playing field, and that consumers choose the products they prefer. Good consumer conditions are a prerequisite for consumers to incentivize businesses to compete on price, quality or innovation. This enhances market efficiency and increases wealth.

On November 3, 2011 the Danish Competition and Consumer Authority published a report on the Danish pay tv-market. The Authority concludes, that the competition in the pay tv-market could be more intense and that the consumers have very limited choice with respect to selecting the exact tv-channels they want. A consumer survey from 2009 showed that 90 percent of the consumers pay for more Tv-channels than they use and that 23 percent would prefer to pay more in order to get the precise tv-channels they want.
